Motion described in details, speed and there types and velocity and types of velocity

Motion:-

           A body if changes its position with respect to another then it is called motion. Every body known that even earth is not stationary. However ,for all partical applications, earth is assumed as stationary. Thus a body can be said in motion if it changes its position with respect to earth.

Types of motion

1. Uniform motion:-

                 If a body covers equal distances in equal interval of time,it is said to be moving with uniform motion or motion of body is uniform.
Ex- arm of clock moving ,non accelerated body.

2. Non-uniform motion or Variable motion:-

       If a body covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time,then it is said to be moving with non-uniform or variable motion.
Ex- accelerated body .

Distance:-

           It is the actual length covered by a body during whole journey. It is scalar quantity. In SI units,it is measured in metres(m)

Displacement:-

              It can be defined as the distance travelled by a body in a particular direction. It is vector quantity. In SI units,it is measured in metres(m)

Speed:-

    The rate of change of distance is called speed,speed is the ratio of distance covered by body to time taken by body in travelling the whole distance. It is scalar quantity and measured in metre per sec(m/sec).

Speed=d/t
Where :-
d= distance traveled by body
t=time taken by the body

Types  of speed

1. Average speed:-

                          It is the total distance travelled by body per unit total time required for covered the whole distance.

2. Uniform speed:-

                         If a body covers equal distances in equal intervals of time,then it is said to be moving with uniform speed.

Velocity:-

            The rate of change of displacement in a particular direction is called velocity. It is vector quantity and its unit is m/s.

Types of velocity:-

1.uniform velocity:-

                         If a body moving in a particular direction ,covers equal distances in equal intervals of time,it is said to be moving with uniform velocity.

2. Variable velocity:-

                        A body is said to be moving with variable velocity if it covers unequal distance in equal intervals of time.
