Reliance Jio offers unlimited data & voice calls for Rs 149, counters Airtel Rs 199 plan.

Reliance Jio data offer plan

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio updated its existing Rs 149 plan available for prepaid users. It now offers unlimited data unlike before. Earlier, the existing Rs 149 plan was all about offering 2GB data with a validity of 28 days, allowing users to utilise 2GB of data within a month.
Now, it offers unlimited data with no FUP, but once 2GB of 4G data is utilised, speed will come down to 60kbps. Users can consume whole 2GB data anytime they want.
Interestingly, this change in the plan comes after Airtel reportedly announced Rs 199 special recharge offer for its prepaid customer. So, Jio Rs 149 plan is likely to compete with the likes of Airtel Rs 199 plan. Furthermore, users also get 300 free SMS (Jio to any operator).
Airtel Rs 199 special recharge plan is said to be all about offering users unlimited voice calls (both local as well as STD). As for the data, Airtel users will benefit from 1GB 4G/3G/2G data. More details awaited at the time of writing this. In addition to Rs 199 plan, Airtel may have also introduced two new plans: Rs 178 and Rs 179.
Airtel Rs 199 plan is reportedly limited to existing users, which could be possible since special recharge plans are normally available for select users. Rs 178 plan is FRC (first recharge coupon), on the other hand, is reportedly valid to all the new Airtel users. It apparently has all the same benefits as Rs 199. But it should be worth noting that this is a recharge plan for new customers, which is expected to be applicable only on first or second recharge.
