E-Shram is a portal launched by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on 21st August, 2021 to benefit the people working in the unorganized sector.  Workers who have signed up for e-shram are given a card by the Ministry of Labor and Employment along with a Unique Identification Number (UAN) similar to the Aadhaar number.  Such workers can later get employment in MP, UP, Bihar and Karnataka by registering for CSC NDUW (National Database of Unorganized Workers) e-Shram Card online registration.  Know more about the other benefits of e-shram card.

 E-Shram Portal has been launched to track and collect all the information and data of laborers and employees of the unorganized sector.  The collected information will be used for new schemes, policies and job prospects for workers and laborers in the unorganized sector.  Significantly, unorganized workers are those who work from home, are self-employed, or workers in the unorganized sector who are not members of ESIC or EPFO.

 The age of the employee should be between 16-59 years.  Should not be a member of EPFO   (Employees Provident Fund Organisation) ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) nor should be an income tax payer.  One more thing that the applicant should be working in the unorganized sector.

 You will get the benefit of 1 year premium waiver along with financial support.  You will get the benefits of Social Security Scheme.  More job opportunities and insurance scheme insurance cover will also be available.  You will join the track migrant labor force.

How to register (Apply)  for E-shram card? 

 To access the e Shramik Portal, you first need to visit its official website.  The website address is register.eshram.gov.in.  Then select 'Self Registration' from the drop-down menu on the main page.  When you have made your selection, another page will open.  You have to enter your mobile number in the field which is linked with your Aadhar card.  After that you have to enter the captcha code.  After filing you have to select Yes or No option for EPFO   and ESIC.  Then select 'Send OTP' from the drop-down menu.  Now an OTP will be sent to you.  Enter the OTP in the section where this request is made.  Now you have to enter your Aadhar card number and accept the terms and conditions before pressing the submit button.  The application form will appear in front of you, which you have to fill.  Then, after filling the complete form, all the papers have to be uploaded.  After completing it, click on submit and print a copy of the application form for future reference.  After that, your registration on the e-Shramik portal will be completed.  Note that no fee will be levied for registration on the portal.  However, if you want to change any data or information on the UAN card, you will be charged Rs 20.
