Satellite : about, working and types.

Friends, in today's post, what are we all satellite?  Learn about how it works.  As we all can easily watch any sports and news going on in distant countries on TV, this is possible only due to satellite.  Due to this, we are able to take advantage of weather conditions, navigation etc. For all these satellites are made and left in the Earth's orbit.  To keep an eye on all these activities and to do its work in matters like space, there is Indian Space Research Organization in India which is also called ISRO.  The Indian Space Research Organization was formed on August 15, 1969.  So let's know in detail about the satellite and its working system.

What is satellite?  Types of satellite and working process.

What is satellite.

Satellite is also called satellite and satellite is like an object in space which revolves around an object bigger than itself.  The satellite is divided into two parts, one natural and the other artificial i.e. man-made.

The moon is also a satellite that revolves around the earth, but it is an example of a natural satellite that works on its own accord.  For the same artificial satellite, scientists make it and leave it in the outer orbit of the earth, from where the satellite passes the signal, which is scanned and used in different areas, including communication, GPS navigation, weather conditions, phone conversation etc.  is included.

Satellites are not similar in size, they are big and small according to their functions and properties, some are of the size of TV and the size of some satellites is very big.

How many types of satellites are there?

There are mainly three types of satellites which are as follows-

 LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE
 MEDIUM EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE
 HIGH EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE
HIGH EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE:- This satellite is above the Earth's orbit and its height is about 36,000 km, it is used for communication.
LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE:- This satellite is very close to the Earth's orbit and its altitude ranges from 160 km to 1600 km, it is used for image and scanning.  Due to its fast speed, it orbits the earth several times in a day.

MEDIUM EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE:- This satellite is in the middle of the Earth's orbit and its altitude varies from 10 thousand km to 20 thousand km, it is used for navigation.  It completes the orbit of the Earth in about 12 hours.

 How do satellites work?

Solar panels are installed on both sides of any satellite, this solar panel works to give electricity to the satellite.  Transmitter and receiver are used to transmit and receive signals, while control motors are used to change the position of the satellite.

Apart from all this, it is designed according to every task in the satellite, as if a satellite has been built for a task like scanning, then scanners are installed in it, in the same way the arrangement of cameras in the satellite used for photos.  Most of the satellite is used for communication.

How does a communication satellite work?

Communication satellite TV, Internet data, radio, etc. helps to reach the information towards the earth, there are three stages in this process.  In the first phase there is an uplink where any data is transmitted from the ground station to the satellite, after that the satellite changes its frequency by processing the data through a transponder and lastly the downlink transfers that data to a different part of the earth.  - Sends to different station.

Although usually the number of uplinks is one, but it does not happen with downlinks, its number can be in lakhs of lakhs, even after the number of downlinks is high, they do not get confused among themselves.

What do satellites do for us?

Two types of satellites always work for us, one natural and the other man-made. Natural satellite includes the moon which works according to itself, but following this, humans created their satellite, which includes LEO satellite.  Satellites mainly do three things for us-

 Scientific Surveying and Navigation
 communication photography
  Imaging

Where is the role of satellites involved?
Satellites do different types of work for us, some of them are as follows-

 communication satellite
 broadcast satellite
 rescue satellite
 navigational satellite
 weather satellite
 scientific satellite
 military satellite

How many satellites are there in space at present?

According to the report of the Union of Concerned Scientists, as of 1 April 2020, there were about 2665 satellites in space.  The same if the number of dead satellites is taken into account, then their number is 3000 and a satellite works for 5 to 15 years.

SpaceX is launching one satellite per month for one of its projects Starlink and it has so far launched more than 600 satellites.  Amazon has also joined this category of launching the same satellite.

How many types of satellites are there?

There are mainly three types of satellites.

 Name the satellite of earth.
The name of the satellite of Earth is Moon.

In how many days does the moon complete its orbit around the earth?
 in 27.3 days.

What is the full name of ISRO?
The full name of ISRO is Indian Space Research Organization.
